In order to create a new tourist resource to add color to Tokyo at night, projection mapping using the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1, one of Tokyo's landmarks, as a canvas to express a variety of art with light and sound is shown throughout the year.
On the first day of the screening, an opening event with live performances is held.
During the projection mapping show time, you can listen to the same music that is played at the site on the "TOKYO Night & Light" detail page.

From Edo to the present day and into the future - this film depicts the history and evolution of Tokyo, as a time-traveling airship travels through the city. The film shows the streets of Edo, modern architecture, Tokyo Tower, and other landmarks and culture one after another. The final part of the journey, which takes us to the skyscrapers of Nishi-Shinjuku, gives us a sense of hope for the future. Please enjoy the images and music that fuse ukiyoe-like visuals with modern dynamism.
This work is produced by students who will be the next generation of projection mapping and other video production. The production was guided by top creators active in Japan and abroad. We invite you to view the works of these young talents who have taken on the challenge of cutting-edge technology and expression.
The Japanese rhythm of 337 beats is added to the music, a fusion of traditional Japanese instruments and innovative club music, making the audience want to start dancing. Together with visual expressions inspired by kabuki and other traditional Japanese performing arts, it will bring a sense of togetherness like a theater to the audience.
